क्या ये सिर्फ एक बलात्कार की बात है। नहीं .....!

मैं भी बहुत गुस्से में हूँ! हम सभी गुस्से में हैं। लेकिन क्या ये सिर्फ एक बलात्कार की बात है। नहीं .....!

हाँ काफी दिन से सोच रही हूँ कि इस बारे में लिखूं लेकिन हिम्मत नहीं हो रही थी। आज हिम्मत भी और कहीं न कहीं फायदा भी उठा रही हूँ। बड़ी आसानी से हम दामिनी के बलात्कारियों की सजा की बात कर रहे हैं! लेकिन कब हम अपने बारे में बात करेंगे, अपने दोस्तों, सहकर्मियों के बारे में बात करेंगे। कई बार साथियों और सहकर्मियों के द्वारा हुई यौन उत्पीडन को सहा है। कभी काम की जगह पर कभी पार्टियों में! कुछ साथियों से भी इस बारे में बात हुई लेकिन सब कुछ जानते हुए भी हमारे साथी ऐसे दोस्तों और सहकर्मियों से दोस्ती रखते है, उन्हें पार्टी में बुलाते हैं। उनके कार्यों का गुणगान करते हैं। और ऐसा ज़ाहिर करते हैं की उनको इस मसले से कुछ लेना देना नहीं। मुझे दुःख भी होता है और गुस्सा भी आता है कि हम जो कि अपने आप को जेंडर संवेदनशील मानते है ऐसे मामलो में चुप्पी साधे हुए है। कब हम सब इस बारे में बात करेंगे कब हम अपनी चुप्पी तोड़ेंगे कब ?????

I am also very angry. We all are angry. But is it about one incident of rape... NO... ! For quite sometime I have been thinking of writing about it, but was not able to muster courage. Today I have the strength and may be I am taking some advantage ... We are talking about punishments for the rapist. But when will we start talking about ourselves, our friends, colleagues.... Many a times, I have suffered sexual harassment of friends and comrades.... Sometimes at workplace, sometimes at parties.! Have spoken to some of my friends about it. In spite of all, these friends have continued their friendships with those abusers, have called them for personal parties! They eulogize their deeds...and show as if they have nothing to do with it. I feel sad and also angry about it because we, who call ourselves gender sensitive have not expressed our anger over these incidents of violence. They just expressed that they have nothing to do with it. WHEN will we start talking about these and break our silence????
